Franc départ “Paul et Suzanne”

This 10 week program offered by le Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario in partnership with Our Children, Our Future, enables preschool children to develop French language skills while supporting families who wish to create a stronger French home environment.

Paul et Suzanne, a French-language development model, is approved by the Departments of Education in most Canadian provinces as curriculum support material appropriate to the needs of early learners in French-language schools and in French-immersion classes.

This program is supported in the following areas:

LaCloche & Area and Sudbury East & Area

How will this program benefit me and my family?

Children sometimes come to us knowing very little or no French. Some have never heard French spoken before. This presents a new challenge to francophone school boards and their schools’ administrators and teachers. Language development programs must accommodate the needs of all children entitled to schooling in French. The challenge is a similar one for early immersion programs.

The Paul et Suzanne learning program meets the challenge while addressing all of the child’s developmental needs.

What can I Expect?

  • Parents / caregivers drop off their children to participate in a weekly interactive session carefully planned by an early childhood team.
  • The program deals with the issues of language and thought development in children, curriculum planning and learning through play.
  • This program will help children learn French in a fun, caring and nurturing environment.
  • Weekly sessions are approximately 2 hours long.

This program will support parents / caregivers by offering practical suggestions, resources, take home activities and evening group sessions.
